University of Minnesota, Crookston Hunt Equestrian Team Has Successful Weekend

(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Hunt Equestrian team hosted a two day competition this past Saturday and Sunday at the University Teaching and Outreach Center (UTOC) and enjoyed much success. A total of thirteen teams and close to 150 riders participated in the two day competition which included over 200 competitive rides.
Chrissy Radintz (So., Maple Grove, Minn.) won her Novice Fences Class on Saturday. It was the first time that she had competed over fences. She also received second place in her Novice Flat Class. This pointed Chrissy out of Novice Flat and qualified her for the regional competition. Kayla Klein (Fr., Hazen, N.D.) won her Novice Flat Class against a tough group of riders representing some of the best teams in the region. Amber Miller (Sr., DePere, Wis.) also won her Novice Flat Class. Paige Harty (So., Waseca, Minn.) won her Beginning Walk/Trot/Canter Class.
Corey Ramsden (Sr., Sisseton, S.D.) had a very successful Sunday winning her Intermediate Flat Class and taking third in her Novice Jumping Class. Rebecca Rhodus (Fr., Kansas City, Missouri) won her Beginning Walk/Trot/Canter Class at only her second Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) competition. U of M, Crookston took home first and second place honors in the Walk/Trot Division with Andrea Reed (Sr., Williston, N.D.) winning and Janice Holdvogt (So., Eden Valley, Minn.) taking second.
The University of Minnesota, Crookston Hunt Equestrian team is off until December 1-2 when they travel to River Falls, Wis. for a competition at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
