(St. Paul, Minn.)- The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference has announced the 2007 Volleyball All-Conference team, as voted on by the league coaches. University of Minnesota, Crookston senior, middle hitter Theresa Crance (6’1, Timber Lake, S.D.) earned recognition for her play as a member of the NSIC All-Conference Honorable Mention team.

Crance started 26 of 27 matches this season and played in a total of 97 games. She finished second on the team with 251 kills (2.59 K/Game). Crance finished first on the team in attack percentage with an outstanding .302, just .006 points away from the Golden Eagle season record of .308 held by Erin Flynn (2006). Defensively, she finished third on the team with 78 total blocks (12 solo, 66 assisted).

She had career matches in both of the team’s games against Upper Iowa University this season. On September 21 she recorded a season and career high 21 kills (21K-2E-33TA, .576 attack percentage) in the conference victory over the Peacocks. On October 20, Crance recorded her season high in attack percentage against the Peacocks hitting at a .625 clip (12K-2E-16TA) in another team victory.

Crance won’t have a lot of time to celebrate her accomplishment as she is a Golden Eagle Women’s Basketball team member. The women’s basketball team opens the 2007-08 season tonight when they travel to Fargo, N.D. to take on the Bison at 7:00 p.m. at the Bison Sports Arena.

Off the court, Crance was named the 2006-2007 UMC Woman of the Year. She received the 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 UMC Student Achievement Award and has been a three-year member of the Dean’s List. She was named to the NSIC All-Academic team in both volleyball and basketball for two years. She is a four-year member of the Golden Eagle Women’s Basketball team. Crance was part of a team the started Fellowship of Christian Athletes on the UMC Campus and has been president of FCA for three years. She is a member of the UMC Student Conduct Board and the Intercollegiate Compliance Committee as a UMC student representative. She is President of the Students Today, Leaders Forever (STLF) Chapter on the UMC campus and participated in the 2006 STLF Pay It Forward Tour over the 2006 Spring Break where she traveled the United State for eight days to do volunteer activities and services. Crance is majoring in Pre-Medicine at the University of Minnesota, Crookston. She is the daughter of Roy and Anne Crance. (NSIC Release)
