Macy Hanson (Crookston, Minn.) Signs with Golden Eagle Women’s Basketball

(Crookston, Minn.)- University of Minnesota, Crookston head women’s basketball coach Mike Roysland announced today the signing of Macy Hanson from Crookston, Minn. to a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles in 2008-09.

 

Hanson is a 5’9, guard, entering her senior season at Crookston High School. She is a two-time Defensive Player of the Year for Pirate basketball and a two-time Offensive Player of the Year for Pirate volleyball. Off the court, Hanson is a three-year recipient of the Academic Achievement Award.

 

“Macy is a very versatile basketball player who can play the one, two or three positions for us. She has the skill to score from the outside but also the strength and the speed to drive to the basket to score,” says Coach Roysland. “Macy comes from an outstanding program at Crookston High School and it will be fun to watch her play for the Golden Eagles in front of her hometown crowd.”

 

Hanson is undeclared on her major at the University of Minnesota, Crookston. She is the daughter of Dede Butenhoff of Crookston, Minn. and Lynn Hanson of Alexandria, Minn.
