Kate Holmquist (Middleton, Wis.) Signs with Golden Eagle Volleyball

(Crookston, Minn.)- University of Minnesota, Crookston head women’s volleyball coach Lee Anderson announced today the signing of Kate Holmquist from Middleton, Wis. to a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles in 2008.
Holmquist is a 5’6, setter / defensive specialist from Edgewood High School in Madison, Wis. Following her senior season she was named a 2007 All-City and All-Conference first team member. Holmquist’s high school team was the region and conference champions from 2005-2007. Her summer club team, the Wisconsin Power, finished 27 of 48 teams at the Nationals in Minneapolis, Minn. Off the court; Holmquist is involved in several extra curricular activities including choir, soccer, softball, swimming and water ballet.
“Kate is an outstanding young setter with a great court sense and leadership skills. Her extensive club experience and athletic ability will be a great asset to the program next year and for years to come", says Coach Anderson. “We are looking forward to Kate becoming a part of the Golden Eagle volleyball family.”
Holmquist is looking to major in Communication at the University of Minnesota, Crookston. She is the daughter of Kent and Tami Holmquist of Middleton, Wis.

The University of Minnesota, Crookston is a NCAA Division II Institution and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
