(Crookston, Minn.)- The Golden Eagle Men’s Hockey team closed out its weekend series in Fond du Lac, Wis. this afternoon. UMC went 0-12 in the game on the power-play and fell to the Sabres by the final of 7-1.

The Sabres scored the first two goals of the game, but Matt Hann (Sr., F, Crookston, Minn.) tried to spark the Golden Eagles when he scored to get UMC within one goal. Jacob Karras (So., F, Janesville, Wis.) earned the helper on the first period goal. Following UMC’s goal, the Sabres would go on to score five unanswered goals to take the 7-1 victory.

The Sabres’ Nick Cinquegrani and Jeffrey Wills led all scorers with two goals each. Cinquegrani tallied the game winning goal as well. Carl Bresser and Jason Ford each recorded a goal and an assist for Marian College in the game.

The Golden Eagles are 0-6 on the season and 0-4 in the MCHA. Marian is now 4-3 on the season.  UMC returns home on November 27 to host Concordia-Moorhead in non-conference play. Game time is set for 8:30 p.m. at the Crookston Civic Arena.
