Golden Eagle Hockey Team Returns to Action After Long Lay-Off

(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Men’s Hockey team will return to action this Friday, January 11 and Saturday, January 12 when they travel to Ashland, Wis. to take on Northland College in a pair of Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association (MCHA) games. The puck drops at 7:00 pm and 4:00 pm respectively. The Golden Eagles have not played since a 5-1 loss to Franklin Pierce of New Hampshire back on December 28.

 

U of M, Crookston has an overall record of 3-10-0. They are 2-6-0 in the MCHA. Alex Maginnis (Fr., Fwd., Mason City, Iowa) leads the Golden Eagles with seven goals and two assists for nine points. Jared Kopp (Jr., Fwd., Bismarck, N.D.) has four goals and four assists for eight points while Teal Plaine (Sr., Fwd., Hallock, Minn.) has two goals and six assists for eight points.

 

Northland College has a record of 1-11-0 overall and 1-7-0 in the NCHA. They have not played since a 7-0 loss to UW-Stevens Point on December 9. The Lumberjacks are led by Kent Lillejord who has four goals and five assists for nine points. Chad Moore has four goals and three assists for seven points.
