Adrian College Scores Three First Period Goals on Way to 9-1 Victory Over U of M, Crookston

 (Crookston, Minn.) – Adrian College scored three first period goals and Eric Miller recorded a hat-trick for the Bulldogs as they went on to defeat the University of Minnesota, Crookston by a 9-1 score in Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association (MCHA) action tonight at the Crookston Civic Arena.
Miller got the scoring underway at 4:40 of the first period with a power play goal. He assisted on the next goal at 12:09 as Adam Krug scored an even strength goal to put Adrian College up 2-0. Krug added a power play goal off another assist from Miller at 15:13 to give the Bulldogs a 3-0 lead going into the second period.
The second period proved to be more of the same for Adrian College as Sam Kuzyk and Brad Houston put the Bulldogs up 5-0 with power play and even strength goals at 4:00 and 13:21 respectively. U of M, Crookston finally got on the board at 17:59 when Teal Plaine (Sr., Fwd., Hallock, Minn.) scored an even strength goal off an assist from Ryan Tucker (Sr., Fwd., Crookston, Minn.).
The third period was all Adrian College as Miller added two power play goals (2:42 and 12:59) and Shawn Skelly (5:29) and Kuzyk (13:57) added even strength goals.
Adrian College improves their record to 13-3-0 overall and 10-1-0 in the MCHA. The Golden Eagles drop to 3-13-0 overall and 2-9-0 in the MCHA. The two teams will resume action tomorrow at the Crookston Civic Arena. The puck drops at 2:00 pm.
