(Fayette, Iowa)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston traveled to Fayette, Iowa to take on the Peacocks of Upper Iowa in an NSIC conference showdown. A 16-2 Peacock run in the last seven minutes of the game, ended the Golden Eagles otherwise stellar night as they lost tonight’s contest 70-54 in an NSIC conference showdown.

The second half was even more exciting as both teams took their turn with sporadic scoring runs in the half.  The big run unfortunately was for the Peacocks with a 16-2 run in the last seven minutes of the game to close out the evening. The Golden Eagles continued to tower over the Peacock shooters blocking another four shots, ending the night with a season high eight total blocks, one block short of the school record.  Justin Peddycoart (Jr., C, Springfield, Ill.) led UMC in blocked shots tonight with three.  McVey added five points in the second half and got in on the blocking festivities with two in the second half.
