(Crookston, Minn.)- Lysaker Gymnasium on the University of Minnesota, Crookston campus took on a different look this fall prior to the Golden Eagle Women’s Volleyball team opening up its 2007 campaign. The facility received new hardwood flooring on all three courts, making it one of the most versatile gymnasiums in the area. The $300,000 project began in June and was completed the week prior to the Golden Eagle Volleyball team’s home opener on August 30, 2007.

“The new wood floor has been a great addition to Lysaker Gymnasium,” says U of M, Crookston Athletics Director Stephanie Helgeson. “It is not only an asset to our University, but to the other schools and athletic teams in our area who utilize the facility for their post season tournaments and other events.”

Lysaker Gymnasium is located in the University of Minnesota, Crookston’s Sports Center. The facility is home to Golden Eagle Volleyball and Men’s and Women’s Basketball. During the winter months, Golden Eagle baseball, softball, soccer and football regularly use Lysaker Gymnasium as their main practice location. In addition to University athletics, the facility hosts high school volleyball and basketball post season tournaments.
