Golden Eagle Tennis Team Hosts Two NCC Opponents This Weekend

(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women’s Tennis team will host a pair of North Central Conference (NCC) opponents on Friday, February 22 and Sunday, February 24. The Golden Eagles will take on Minnesota State-Mankato on Friday at 7:00 pm and the University of South Dakota on Sunday at 9:00 am. Both matches will be played at Centre Court Fitness Club in Grand Forks, N.D.

 

The Golden Eagles are 0-3 overall and 0-2 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). They received there first doubles victory of the season with an 8-5 win last Sunday against Northern State University when number one doubles team Jacqueline Noah (Jr, Crookston, Minn.) and Christa Nitsch (So, Becker, Minn.) won 8-5.

 

“I do not think we played our best tennis last weekend but we did win our first doubles match of the year,” says Golden Eagle Head Coach Josh Lunak. “I am hoping we can build some confidence from there and get some more wins this weekend”

 

MSU- Mankato has an overall record of 7-0 and NCC record of 3-0 after defeating Augustana College by a 6-3 score on Sunday. The University of South Dakota has an overall record of 2-1 and NCC record of 1-0 after defeating the University of Upper Iowa by a 5-4 score on Saturday.
