High School: Bauer is a 5’8, setter from Durand High School in the Middle Border Conference. During her high school career she was named All-Conference Honorable Mention (2004, 2005) and All-Conference (2006). She was named team captain for the 2005 and 2006 seasons. In the classroom Bauer ranks in the top 10 percent of her class and is a member of the National Honor Society.

Personal: Janie plans to major in Pre-Physical Therapy at U of M, Crookston. She is the daughter of Tom and Mary Bauer.
