UMC Teambacker Golf Classic Raises Over $5,000 for Golden Eagle Athletics

1stplaceottertailpower.JPG(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Teambackers held their 19th annual Teambacker Golf Classic at Minakwa Golf Course in Crookston, Minn., on Saturday, July 18. Eighteen teams and 90 golfers participated in the 18-hole scramble which raised over $5,000 for Golden Eagle Athletics.
   
The tournament champion was the Ottertail Power Company team of Brent Johnson, Scott Sandburg, Jeff Oseth, Pete Bergh and Chad Johnson.

"The UMC Teambackers would like to thank all the sponsors and golfers for their participation in the 19th annual UMC Teambacker Golf Classic," says Director of Athletic Fundraising Bill Tyrrell. "The tournament was a great success with a record number of teams and golfers participating. Over $5,000 was raised for Golden Eagle athletics at the University of Minnesota, Crookston."

The UMC Teambackers would like to recognize and thank Minakwa Golf Course for hosting the event, Custom Aire and Wireless Concepts for their sponsorship of the wind shirts that were given as gifts and Noah Insurance Services, Midcontinent Communications and Brost Chevrolet-Cadillac for sponsoring the $20,000 Hole-In-One contest.
