(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women's Soccer team put forth a valiant effort today at the UMC Soccer Field but were edged 1-0 by Bemidji State University in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) match. The Golden Eagles were defeated by the Beavers 5-1 in a non-conference match back on September 8.
After a scoreless first half, Bemidji State University got the only goal they would need when Tiffany Van Haaften scored off an assist from Rachel Gustafson to give the Beavers the 1-0 victory.
University of Minnesota, Crookston's Anna Ogaard (Jr, GK, Maple Grove, Minn.) was outstanding in net stopping six Bemidji State University shots.
The Beavers improve to 6-2-0 overall and 3-0-0 in the NSIC. The Golden Eagles fall to 2-6-1 overall and 0-3-0 in the NSIC. They will return to action on Sunday, September 27 when they play host to the University of Minnesota Duluth in an NSIC match. Action gets underway at 1 p.m. at the UMC Soccer Field.
