Huskies Down Golden Eagles 93-72 in Men's Basketball

(Crookston, Minn.)- St. Cloud State University raced out to a 47-29 halftime lead and never looked back on their way to a 93-72 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Men's Basketball game today at Lysaker Gymnasium in Crookston, Minn.

The Huskies had four players in double figures. They were led by Brett Putz who scored 22 points (8-for-11) with two assists and three steals. Matt Schneck scored 16 points (6-for-8) with six rebounds. Taylor Witt scored 13 points (5-for-8) and Andrew Bernsetter added ten (5-for-6).

The Golden Eagles were led by Damarius Cruz (Fr, G, Plymouth, Minn.) who scored a game-high 25 points (10-for-15). Cruz also added three rebounds and four assists. Akeem Cubie (Jr, G, Minneapolis, Minn.) scored 23 points (9-for-11) with eight rebounds and two steals.

St. Cloud State University improves to 6-2 overall and 3-1 in the NSIC. The University of Minnesota, Crookston falls to 3-5 overall and 0-4 in the NSIC.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Friday, December 18 when they host Mayville State University in a non-conference game. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Lysaker Gymnasium.
