(Crookston, Minn.)- Concordia University - St. Paul (CU) scored at 64:57 to break a 1-1 tie and held on for a 2-1 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Women's Soccer victory over the University of Minnesota, Crookston today in St. Paul, Minn.
The Golden Bears got on the scoreboard early in the game as Arielle Stimson scored off an assist from Savannah Nolen at 2:51 to give CU a 1-0 lead.
U of M, Crookston tied the game at 27:38 when Justine Jones (Sr, Fwd, Richland, Wash.) scored her fourth goal of the year off a corner kick from Megan Flynn (Fr, Def, Chanhassen, Minn.) to make the score 1-1.
The Golden Bears scored the game winning goal at 64:57 when Stimson scored her second goal of the game off an assist from Katie Johnson to make the final score 2-1.
Kaitlin Budd had two saves for CU. Anna Ogaard (Jr, GK, Maple Grove, Minn.) recorded five saves for the University of Minnesota, Crookston.
Concordia University - St. Paul improves to 6-4-2 overall and 3-1-1 in the NSIC. The Golden Eagles fall to 2-8-1 overall and 0-5-0 in the NSIC.
U of M, Crookston will return to action on Sunday, October 4 when they travel to St. Cloud, Minn. for an NSIC match against St. Cloud State University. The match starts at 1 p.m.
