
The Golden Eagles were led by Amber Meyer (OH, 6-2, JR, Paxton, Neb.) and her match-high 17 kills. Meyer attacked at a solid .244 (17K-6E-45TA) clip. Ashley Allen (OH, 5-11, SR, Buffalo, Minn.) followed Meyer with a season-high 13 kills. Margo McHugh (OH, 5-9, FR, Indian Harbour Beach, Fla.) had a career night with six kills and an outstanding .316 (6K-0E-19TA) attack percentage. Shannon Cologna (S, 5-6, JR, Peoria, Ariz.) led the squad in both assists with 40 and defensive digs with 13. As a team, the Golden Eagles held the Mavericks to a match-low .100 (11K-8E-30TA) attack percentage in the third set.
The Mavericks were led by Amanda Beekman's 16 kills and .394 (16K-3E-33TA) attack percentage. Kimber Kuhl followed Beekman with 11 kills and she was trailed by Amanda Thompson and Ally Kwikkel who tallied 10 kills each. Kuhl also had a match-high five block assists. Brittany Stamer led all setters with 48 set assists. Alli Rice led MSU with five service aces and 19 defensive digs.
The Golden Eagles are 3-15 overall and 0-6 in the NSIC while the Mavericks advance to 17-2 overall and stay a perfect 7-0 in the NSIC. The Golden Eagles return to the court tomorrow to battle #14 ranked Southwest Minnesota State. First server is set for 5 p.m.
