(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston fought extremely hard and played Northern State University to a 1-1 double overtime tie today in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) today in Crookston, Minn. on a cold and blustery day.
The Golden Eagles go on the board first at 26:35 when Kaitlyn Ostergren (Fr, Mid, Lino Lakes, Minn.) scored off an assist from Megan Gibeault (Jr, Fwd, Green Bay, Wis.). Northern State University tied the game at 40:51 when Yvette Waters scored an assisted goal.
Both goalkeepers were solid with Anna Ogaard (Jr, GK, Maple Grove, Minn.) recording nine saves and Dee Wood recording three saves.
U of M, Crookston now has an overall record of 2-9-2 and NSIC record of 0-6-1. The Wolves have an overall record of 4-4-5 and NSIC record of 2-1-3.
The Golden Eagles return to action on Sunday, October 11 when they host the University of Mary in an NSIC match at the UMC Soccer Field. Play begins at 1 p.m.
