(Crookston, Minn.)- Wayne State College scored at 80:28 of the game to break a 1-1 tie and defeat the University of Minnesota, Crookston 2-1 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Women's Soccer action today in Wayne, Neb.
The Wildcats got on the board first at 20:29 when Mikayla Comba scored an unassisted goal. Megan Gibeault (Jr, Fwd, Green Bay, Wis.) scored her third goal of the season at 79:04 to tie the game at 1-1. It was an unassisted goal. Hayley Setzer scored the game winning goal for Wayne State College at 80:28 off an assist from Comba making the final score 2-1.
Anna Ogaard (Jr, GK, Maple Grove, Minn.) recorded seven saves for the Golden Eagles. Emily Walker stopped three shots for the Wildcats.
Wayne State College improves to 4-12-1 overall and 1-8-1 in the NSIC. The University of Minnesota, Crookston falls to 2-12-2 overall and 0-9-1 in the NSIC.
The Golden Eagles return to NSIC action on Sunday, October 25 when they travel to Sioux Falls, S.D. to take on Augustana College. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
