NSIC Recognizes Four Golden Eagle Football Players with All-Conference Honors

schiller_jeff09.JPG(St. Paul, Minn.)- The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) announced today that four Golden Eagle football players earned All-Conference recognition following the 2009 season. Jeff Schiller (OL, 6-6, 300, SO, Lakeside, Calif.) was named NSIC North Division All-Conference Second Team Offense. Cecil Brown (DB, 5-10, 205, FR, Edison, Ga.), Kolby Gruhot (DL, 6-3, 250, SO, Argyle, Minn.) and Keith McBride (RB, 5-11, 195, FR, Lodi, Wis.) earned NSIC North Division All-Conference Honorable Mention honors.

Schiller started nine games at center for the Golden Eagles. He was a leader on the offensive line that helped Golden Eagle runningbacks average 99.4 yards per game.

Brown started in 10 of 11 games played this season. He was fourth on the team in tackles with 50 (28 solo, 22 assisted). Brown tallied two pass break-ups, two passes defended and one fumble recovery.

Gruhot was a leader on the defensive line starting in all 11 games. He was third on the team in tackles with 51 (27 solo, 24 assisted). He had six tackles for a loss, one sack, one quarterback hurry, one fumble recovery, one forced fumble and one blocked kick.

McBride was a staple in the backfield, starting in all eleven games. He rushed 247 times for 960 total yards for an average of 3.9 yards/carry. He averaged 87.3 yards/game, had a long rush of 25 yards and scored seven touchdowns to lead the Golden Eagles.
