servaty_jason_09.jpg heier_matt_09.jpg(Crookston, Minn.)- Winona State University took a 36-26 halftime lead and outscored the University of Minnesota, Crookston 53-17 in the second half as the Warriors defeated the Golden Eagles by a score of 89-43 tonight in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Men's Basketball action at Lysaker Gymnasium.

Winona State University had four players reach double figures and were led by David Johnson who scored 15 points (4-for-7) and added five assists. Zander Culver (3-for-3) and C.J. Erickson (6-for-8) each added 14 points with Erickson pulling down five rebounds as well. Brad Meyer also scored 12 points (5-for-7).

The University of Minnesota, Crookston was led by Jason Servaty (Jr, G, St. Michael, Minn.) who scored 12 points (4-for-10). Matthew Heier (Sr, G, Ray, N.D.) scored 11 points (4-for-13) and added four rebounds.

Winona State University improves to 14-5 overall and 8-4 in the NSIC. The Golden Eagles fall to 3-14 overall and 0-11 in the NSIC.

U of M, Crookston returns to NSIC action on Friday, January 29 and Saturday, January 30 when they travel to the University of Mary and Northern State University respectively. Both games tip-off at 8 p.m.
