Huskies Hold Off Golden Eagles 78-71 in Final Regular Season Road Game

(St. Cloud, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women's Basketball team traveled to St. Cloud, Minn. this afternoon to play St. Cloud State in the Golden Eagles final regular season road game. Minnesota, Crookston who is 1-10 overall on the road and 1-9 in conference play on the road this season fell to the Huskies 78-71 at Halenbeck Hall.
 
The Golden Eagles were led by Jamie Zelinsky (G, 5-11, JR, Brooklyn Park, Minn.) who scored a team-high 20 points. She was 5 of 11 from the field, 3 of 6 from long range and 7 of 8 from the free-throw line. Diana Taddy (G, 5-6, JR, Two Rivers, Wis.) earned 13 points and she was followed by Gina Jaroszewski (F, 5-11, JR, Moorhead, Minn.) who had 10 points. Laurie Tyson (C, 6-1, FR, Rosemount, Minn.) grabbed a game-high eight rebounds and knocked down six points.
 
St. Cloud was led by Talisha Barlow who scored a game-high 21 points. She shot 8 of 17 from the field in the game. Becca Friestleben scored 20 points for SCSU. She was 4 of 9 from long range and 6 of 6 from the free-throw line.
 
The Golden Eagles fall to 9-15 overall and 7-11 in Northern Sun play while the Huskies advance to 10-15 overall and 5-13 in conference play. Minnesota, Crookston returns to the court on Monday, February 22 when they host Finlandia University. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
