Golden Eagle Baseball Team Heads to Florida for Eight Games

(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Baseball team departs for Winterhaven, Fla. on Thursday afternoon. The Golden Eagles will play eight games at the Russ Matt Invitational in Winterhaven.

U of M, Crookston will face Wheeling Jesuit University of West Virginia in a doubleheader on March 12 at 11:30 a.m. They will face Saginaw Valley State University of Michigan in a doubleheader on March 13 at 8:30 a.m. The Golden Eagles will take on Hillsdale College of Michigan in a single nine-inning game on March 14 at 8 a.m. U of M, Crookston will then close out its Florida schedule with three non-conference games against Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) foe Augustana College. The Golden Eagles and the Vikings will play a doubleheader on March 15 at 12:30 p.m. and a single nine-inning game on March 17 at 9 a.m. All times are Central Standard Time.

The University of Minnesota, Crookston has an overall record of 2-4. They are led by Teddy Gutman (Sr, OF, Burlington, Iowa) who is hitting .400 (8-for-20) with one run batted in (RBI). Erik Nockleby (So, OF, Roseville, Minn.) and Josh Kraby (Fr, OF, Glencoe, Minn.) are both hitting .353 (6 -for-17). Jordan Triestram (Sr, RHP, Shakopee, Minn.) is 1-0 on the hill with a 0.00 earned run average (ERA) and seven strikeouts. Paul Myers (So, RHP, Arden Hills, Minn.) is 1-1 with a 4.61 ERA and seven strikeouts.
