Chelsea Wiesner (Rochester, Minn.) Signs National Letter of Intent with Golden Eagle Volleyball

WiesnerPhoto.jpg(Crookston, Minn.)- University of Minnesota, Crookston head women's volleyball coach Lee Anderson announced today the signing of Chelsea Wiesner to a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles in 2010.
 
Wiesner is a 5-7, libero, from John Marshall High School in the Big Nine Conference. She was a five-year letterwinner and two-year captain on her high school volleyball team. Wiesner recorded over 1,000 (1,542) digs in her career, was a two-year All-Conference Honorable Mention selection and a two-year All-Conference selection. She was recognized as the team's best defensive player for five seasons and was an Academic All-Conference member following her senior season. She was a six-year Nationals participant with Southern Minnesota Volleyball.
 
"Chelsea is an outstanding player. Her ball control and defensive presence are phenomenal and because of that she will have an immediate impact in our gym," says Coach Anderson. "I am very excited to have a player with Chelsea's talent; skill and passion for the game of volleyball become a part of the Golden Eagle Volleyball family."
 
Wiesner plans to major in health sciences and biology at the University of Minnesota, Crookston. She is the daughter of Lisa and Bob Wiesner.
