(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Teambackers held their 20th annual Teambacker Golf Classic at Minakwa Golf Course in Crookston, Minn., on Saturday, July 19. Over 70 golfers participated in the18-hole scramble that saw wind and rain early but sunny skies by the end of the tournament.
          
The flight one and overall tournament champions were Mike Nelson, Scott Sanders, John Peters, Eric Helgeson and Calvin Anderson. The flight two champions were Jon Street, Brock Strommen, Chad Erdmann, Mike Gregg and Mike Sullivan.
 
"The UMC Teambackers would like to thank Hole-in-One sponsors Noah Insurance Services, Brost Chevrolet-Cadillac and Midcontinent Communications as well as the 75 golfers who participated in this year's event," says Director of Athletic Fundraising Bill Tyrrell. "All money raised at this event goes to support student-athlete scholarships at the University of Minnesota, Crookston."

Hole-In-One: Joe Lessard from Crookston shot a hole in one on the par three fourth hole at the Teambacker Golf Classic. The hole-in-one came in the second round and he received a $500 Visa gift card.
 
The University of Minnesota, Crookston is a NCAA Division II Institution and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). The Golden Eagle Equestrian team is a member of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA).
