(Crookston, Minn.)- St. Cloud State University scored three goals in the first half and added two in the second to defeat the University of Minnesota, Crookston 5-0 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) women's soccer action today in St. Cloud, Minn.
The Huskies got on the board at 32:33 of the first half when Alexandra Pafko scored off an assist from Chelsey Scheller. Lindsay Sather made the score 2-0 at 42:36 off assists from Elyse De Stefano and Pafko. Pafko scored her second goal of the game at 43:16 off assists from Scheller and Sather. Sara Clapp scored the first goal of the second half at 48:30 off assists from Gabrielle Najera and Pafko. Clapp closed out the scoring at 63:12 with an unassisted goal. Kaitlin Kelly and Elizabeth Kelly combined on the shutout.
St. Cloud State University improves to 6-2-3 overall and 5-0-1 in the NSIC. The Golden Eagles fall to 2-9-1 overall and 0-6-0 in the NSIC.
The University of Minnesota, Crookston returns to action on Saturday, October 10 and Sunday October 11 when they play host to Northern State University and the University of Mary in a pair of NSIC contests. Both matches will start at 1 p.m.
