Carly Rothstein (St. Michael, Minn.) Signs with Golden Eagle Women's Basketball

(Crookston, Minn.)- University of Minnesota, Crookston head women's basketball coach Mike Roysland announced today the signing of Carly Rothstein to a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles during the 2010-11 season.

Rothstein is a 5-10, shooting guard from St. Michael-Albertville High School in the Mississippi 8 conference. She was named to the 2009 State All-Tournament Team and was a 2009 All-Conference selection. She was a Pioneer Press Athlete of the Week and a Pioneer Press All-State Honorable Mention player. Rothstein holds the St. Michael-Albertville single game three-point field goal record at six and the single season three-point field goal record at 58.

"Carly is a great three-point shooter with a very quick release. Her range will allow us to really stretch the floor," states Coach Roysland. "In addition, her athleticism and speed will be a great help on the defensive side of the ball."

Rothstein is the daughter of Cathy and Tom Rothstein. She plans to major in early childhood education at the University of Minnesota, Crookston.
