(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Western Equestrian team travels to Fargo, N.D. on Saturday, November 21 and Sunday, November 22 for a show hosted by North Dakota State University (NDSU). Saturday's competition will begin at 1 p.m. while Sunday's events will get underway at 9 a.m.
Golden Eagle Western Coach Nicky Overgaard is excited to return to action. "This show is important for us as a team to continue to gain points towards winning the region," says Coach Overgaard. "We have to keep the momentum going."
The points are close for the overall high point team award in the region and have South Dakota State University in the lead and the University of Minnesota, Crookston closely behind by three points. Amanda Peterson (Sr, Rochester, Minn.) also is in the running for High Point Rider as she is tied for second place. Amanda Flint (Fr, Aberdeen, S.D.) and Kaitlyn Tollefsrud (So, Hawley, Minn.) are getting close to qualifying for the regional horse show.
