Victoria Joransen (Minnetonka, Minn.) Signs with Golden Eagle Women's Basketball

(Crookston, Minn.)- University of Minnesota, Crookston head women's basketball coach Mike Roysland announced today the signing of Victoria (Tori) Joransen to a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles during the 2010-11 season.

Joransen is a 6-0, post player from Hopkins High School in the Classic Lake Conference. She was named a Most Improved Player, All-Conference Honorable Mention and a team captain. In the classroom she earned the Academic Achievement Award.

"Tori is a tremendous get as she can play both the 4 and 5 position," says Coach Roysland. "She is an outstanding defender who can defend either the power forward or the center position. On the offensive side, she can run the floor and transition extremely well. I feel that she still has her best basketball ahead of her," adds Roysland.

Joransen plans to major in biology at the University of Minnesota, Crookston. She is the daughter of Layne Silverling and Barb Joransen of Minnetonka and Jeff Joransen of Leesburg, Fla.
