(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Men's Basketball squad returns to Lysaker Gymnasium for a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) match-ups on Friday, January 22 and Saturday, January 23 against Upper Iowa University and Winona State University respectively. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. on Friday and 6 p.m. on Saturday.
The Golden Eagles hold an overall record of 3-12 and NSIC record of 0-9 after dropping an 84-76 decision at Minnesota State University Moorhead on Saturday. U of M, Crookston is led by Damarius Cruz (Fr, G, Plymouth, Minn.) who is averaging 17.7 (99-for-227) points per game.
Golden Eagles vs. Upper Iowa University Friday, January 22 8:00 p.m.
The Peacocks have an overall record of 7-10 and NSIC record of 4-6 after splitting their games this past weekend. Upper Iowa defeated 18th ranked Augustana College by a 70-67 score on Friday. On Saturday, the Peacocks were stopped by Wayne State College by a score of 57-53. Upper Iowa University is led by Matt Lesan who is averaging 28.5 points (66-for-155) per game. Keith Steffeck is averaging 19.9 points (58-for-117) per game. Brad Burgus is averaging 17.2 points (44-for-109) per game.
Golden Eagles vs. Winona State University Saturday, January 23 6:00 p.m.
The Warriors have an overall record of 12-4 and NSIC record of 6-4 after defeating Wayne State College 67-63 and losing to Augustana College 88-84 this past weekend. They are led by David Johnson who is averaging 21.9 points (114-for-223) and 4.5 rebounds per game. Winona State University defeated the Golden Eagles 96-61 back on November 28 at the NSIC Holiday Hoopsfest in Sioux Falls, S.D.
