Beavers Overpower Golden Eagle Men 81-64

hendricks_adam_09.jpg heier_matt_09.jpg(Crookston, Minn.)- Bemidji State University jumped out to a 20 point halftime lead and went on to defeat the University of Minnesota, Crookston 81-64 today in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Men's Basketball action at Lysaker Gymnasium in Crookston, Minn.

The Beavers were led by the sharp shooting of Lance Rongstad who led all scorers with 27 points (8-for-12) including 10-for-11 from the charity stripe. He also had five rebounds. Bryce Tesdahl added 22 points (6-for-6) including going 9-for-11 from the free throw line. He also had five rebounds, four assists and five steals. Seth Haake chipped in with 16 points (6-for-10) and six rebounds.

The Golden Eagles were led by Adam Hendricks (Jr, F, Watertown, Minn.) who scored 20 points (9-for-13). Matthew Heier (Sr, G, Ray, N.D.) added 12 points (4-for-8) with four rebounds and four assists.

Bemidji State University improves to 9-14 overall and 6-11 in the NSIC. The University of Minnesota, Crookston falls to 4-19 overall and 1-16 in the NSIC.

The Golden Eagles return to NSIC action on Saturday, February 20 when they travel to St. Cloud State University. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m.
