Golden Eagle Men's Basketball Squad Has Busy Week Ahead

(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota Crookston Men's Basketball team closes out the 2009-2010 season with three games at home. The Golden Eagles will face Finlandia University in a non-conference contest on Monday, February 22 at 7:30 p.m. The game was postponed on December 29 and was originally supposed to be played at Finlandia. On Wednesday, February 24, U of M, Crookston faces the University of Mary in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) game at 8 p.m. On Saturday, February 27, the Golden Eagles close out the season with an NSIC contest against Minnesota State University Moorhead at 4 p.m. U of M, Crookston's outgoing seniors will be honored prior to the game and the parents of the Golden Eagles will also be recognized.

The University of Minnesota, Crookston holds an overall record of 4-20 and NSIC record of 1-17after dropping an 86-57 decision at St. Cloud State University on Saturday. They are led by Adam Hendricks (Jr, F, Watertown, Minn.) who is averaging 10.2 points (106-for-207) per game. Matthew Heier (Sr, G, Ray, N.D.) is averaging 10.0 points (63-for-164) per game.

Golden Eagles vs. Finlandia University  Monday, February 22  7:30 p.m.

The Lions have an overall record of 8-12 after dropping a 99-67 game at Bemidji State University last Tuesday. They are led by Tyler Gordon who is averaging 21.5 points (149-for-306) and 6.5 rebounds per game.

Golden Eagles vs. University of Mary  Wednesday, February 24  8 p.m.

The Marauders have an overall record of 14-11 and NSIC record of 10-8 after defeating Augustana College (71-59) and losing to Wayne State College (76-53) at home this past weekend. They are led by Anthony Moody who is averaging 18.8 points (176-for-378) and 4.2 rebounds per game. Eric Erdmann is averaging 17.2 points (153-for-307) and six rebounds per game. The University of Mary defeated the University of Minnesota, Crookston by a score of 85-71 back on January 29.

Golden Eagles vs. MSU Moorhead   Saturday, February 27  4 p.m.

The Dragons have an overall record of 9-16 and NSIC record of 6-12 after defeating Concordia University-St. Paul 88-82 on the road on Saturday. They are led by Jake Driscoll who is averaging 16.1 points (113-for-296) per game. MSU Moorhead defeated the Golden Eagles by a score of 84-76 back on January 16.
