(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women's Basketball team rounds out the 2009-10 regular season with home games on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday of this week. The Golden Eagles host Finlandia University on Monday, February 22 at 5:30 p.m. The team returns to the court on Wednesday, February 24 to host the University of Mary at 6:00 p.m. and then on Saturday, February 27 the Golden Eagles match-up against MSU Moorhead at 2:00 p.m.
Jamie Zelinsky (G, 5-11, JR, Brooklyn Park, Minn.) leads the Golden Eagles with 407 points, a 17 points/game average. She leads the team with 31.7 minutes/game and in field-goals made with 148. Bri Zabel (F, 6-0, JR, Northfield, Minn.) is averaging 13.4 points/game. She is nine free-throws away from tying the UMC single season record in free-throws made. She currently leads the squad with 124 free-throws made.
Finlandia University is led by Jodi Riutta who averages 14.6 points/game. She also leads the team in assists with 55 and steals with 37. Ally Tincknell follows Riutta with 13.4 points/game and leds Finlandia with 9.1 rebounds/game.
The University of Mary is 9-14 overall and 5-11 in the NSIC. The Marauders are led by Liz Sipma who is averaging 10.6 points/game. Sipma leads Mary in rebounding average with 5.2 and in blocked shots with 24. Rachel Zillmer is averaging 10.5 points/game and leads the team in total rebounds with 112.
MSU Moorhead is 17-8 overall and 11-7 in the NSIC. The Dragons are led by Alison Nash-Gerlach who averages 15.6 points/game. She leads the team in free-throws made with 143. Meghan Rettke follows Nash-Gerlach with 13.7 points/game and leads the Dragons with 9.4 rebounds/game.
