(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women's Basketball team is ready to get back to the comforts of Lysaker Gymnasium. The Golden Eagles are on a four-game NSIC road losing streak but are still in the hunt for a conference playoff berth. UMC is 5-1 at home in conference games and look for a weekend sweep on February 12 and 13 against Minnesota Duluth and Bemidji State. Minnesota, Crookston is currently 8-13 overall and 6-9 in the NSIC.
Brittani Wiese (G, 5-7, FR, Albertville, Minn.) dropped a season-high 22 points against Minnesota State on Friday night. She was 8 of 16 from the field, 4 of 6 from long range and 2 of 3 from the free-throw line. Jamie Zelinsky (G, 5-11, JR, Brooklyn Park, Minn.) added 15 points and earned a team-high seven assists, a game-high two blocked shots, and a game-high eight rebounds. Zelinsky led UMC against Southwest Minnesota State on Saturday as she scored a team-high 16 points. She was 6 of 10 from the field and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. Zelinsky needs just 43 points to move into second all-time in scoring at UMC. She averaged 15.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and blocked three shots all to lead the Golden Eagles over the weekend. Zelinsky leads the squad this season with 16.3 points/game. She also leads UMC in minutes played (31.4), field goals made (129), rebounds (114), and assists (59). Bri Zabel (F, 6-0, JR, Northfield, Minn.) is averaging 13.9 points/game while Wiese follows with 11.8 points/game.

She is followed by Lindsay Miller who is averaging 13.3 points/game with a team-high 43 three-point field-goals made.
Bemidji State is 12-10 overall and 6-9 in the NSIC, currently tied with UMC for tenth in conference play. The Beavers are led by Sydney Epema who is averaging 11.1 points/game and leads BSU with 54 three-pointers made. Katie Pettit follows Epema with 10.3 points/game. She leads the team in free-throws made and assists.
