Golden Eagle Women's Tennis Team Braces for Busy Week

(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women's Tennis team returns to action this weekend with four Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) matches. The Golden Eagles host Northern State University at Center Court Fitness Center in Grand Forks, N.D. on Friday, February 19 at 7 p.m. On Saturday, February 20, they host Minnesota State University, Mankato at 9:00 a.m. and Augustana College at 12 p.m. The Golden Eagles hit the road on Sunday, February 21 when they travel to St. Cloud, Minn. to face Winona State University at 12 p.m.

U of M, Crookston holds an overall and NSIC record of 0-1 after dropping a 9-0 decision to Upper Iowa University on Friday, February 12. The Peacocks were ranked third in the Central Region.

Golden Eagles vs. Northern State University  Friday, February 19  7 p.m.

The match will be the season opener for the Wolves. Northern State University finished the 2009 season with an overall record of 4-13 and NSIC record of 1-10.

Golden Eagles vs. Minnesota State University  Saturday, February 20 9 a.m.

The Mavericks have an overall record of 4-0 and NSIC record of 2-0 after defeating Southwest Minnesota State University 5-4 in an NSIC match on Sunday.

Golden Eagles vs. Augustana College   Saturday, February 20 12 p.m.

The Vikings will open their season on Friday, February 19 when they travel to Bemidji State University. They finished the 2009 season with an overall record of 13-13 and NSIC record of 8-3.

Golden Eagles vs. Winona State University (St. Cloud) Sunday, February 21 12 p.m.

The Warriors have an overall record of 1-1 and NSIC record of 1-1 after defeating Bethany Lutheran 9-0 in non-conference action on Saturday.
