(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Hunt Seat Equestrian team competed this past Saturday and Sunday at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. The Golden Eagles rebounded nicely on Sunday after a rough competition on Saturday.

Saturday's competition started off with a third place finish from Lauren Snively (So, Herndon Vir.) in Intermediate jumping. Sara Wells (Sr, Calgary, Alb.) took third in her Intermediate jumping section and also captured third in Intermediate Flat. Heather Fogelson (So, Grant, Minn.) won her Open Flat section. Angela Peterson (Fr, Detroit Lakes, Minn.) and Katelyn Mueller (So, Belle Plaine, Minn.) both took third in their respective Advanced Walk Trot Canter sections.

Sunday's competition started strong with a second place finish from Jessica Biddle (Sr, Elburn, Ill.) in Open Jumping and a third in Open Flat. Lauren Snively took third in Intermediate jumping and won the Intermediate Flat. Heather Fogelson took a third in Novice jumping. Laura Critchett (Jr, Shoreview, Minn.) won the Open Flat. Sarah Wells took a second in Intermediate Flat. Megan Claybundy (Jr, International Falls, Minn.) took second in Novice Flat. Angela Peterson and Kaitlyn Weiger (So, Duluth, Minn.) both won their Advanced Walk Trot Canter classes. Lydia Lestingi (So, Clemons, N.Y.) took second in Beginner Walk Trot Canter. Annie Kelly (So, Jordan, Minn.) took second in Walk Trot. Sunday's show ended with a team Reserve High Point win. The Golden Eagles are still in the lead to be the team regional champions.

The University of Minnesota, Crookston Hunt Seat Equestrian team closes out the regular season on Saturday, February 27 and Sunday, February 28 when they travel to Madison, Wis. to take on the University of Wisconsin. Saturday's show begins at 1 p.m. and Sunday's begins at 9 a.m.
