Golden Eagle Women's Basketball Travels to St. Cloud to Take on the Huskies

(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women's Basketball team kept themselves in the NSIC playoff hunt with a weekend split. Minnesota, Crookston fell to Minnesota Duluth on February 12 82-55 but defeated Bemidji State the following night 91-82.  The Golden Eagles are currently in tenth place in the NSIC and just two games out of playoff position with three conference games remaining. Minnesota, Crookston travels to St. Cloud State on Saturday, February 20. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.

Jamie Zelinsky (G, 5-11, JR, Brooklyn Park, Minn.) led the Golden Eagles this weekend averaging 22 points/game. She was 14 of 29 from the field and 14 of 15 from the free-throw line. She was second on the team in rebounds with 15 and in assists with five. Zelinsky is averaging 16.8 points/game on the season and is third in the NSIC in conference scoring with 18.2 points/game. Bri Zabel (F, 6-0, JR, Northfield, Minn.) is averaging 13.8 points/game and leads the team in free-throws made with 123. Brittani Wiese (G, 5-7, FR, Albertville, Minn.) is averaging 11.3 points/game and is second on the team in field-goals made with 95 and steals with 28.

St. Cloud State is 9-15 overall and 4-13 in the NSIC. The Huskies are led by Talisha Barlow who is averaging 15.5 points/game and leads the squad with a 4.8 rebounds/game average. Becca Friestleben averages 13.3 points/game for SCSU.
