Jamie Zelinsky Moves into Second on Golden Eagle All-Time Scoring List

Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for zelinsky_jamie09.jpg(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston women's basketball player Jamie Zelinsky (G, 5-11, JR, Brooklyn Park, Minn.) moved into second place in all-time scoring on Saturday, February 13 against Bemidji State University. Zelinsky dropped a game-high tying 22 points against the Beavers to move her career total to 1,245 points and pass Kari Score (2003-06) who amassed 1,243 points. Zelinsky has her sights set now on Karna Plaine (2002-06) who is the all-time leading scorer in Golden Eagle Women's Basketball history with 1,642 points.
 
Zelinsky is the team's leading scorer this season with 387 points, a 16.8 points/game average. She is third in the NSIC in conference scoring with 18.2 points/game. Zelinsky leads the Golden Eagles in minutes played with 723, a 31.4 minutes/game average. She is tops in field-goals made with 143, total rebounds with 129, a 5.6 rebounds/game average, assists with 64 and is tied for the team-high in blocks with 14.

Zelinsky is the daughter of Julie Walter of Brooklyn Park, Minn. and Jeff Zelinsky of Woodbury, Minn. She is majoring in sport & recreation management at the University ofMinnesota, Crookston.
 
The Golden Eagles travel to St. Cloud State on Saturday, February 20 to battle the Huskies in the team's final regular season road game of the season. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
