
Kelsey Van Ackeren (G, 5-9, SR, St. Cloud, Minn.) led the Golden Eagle in the first half. She earned her second double-double of the season at the 3:50 mark of the first half and finished the game with 16 points and a game and career-high 13 rebounds. Minnesota, Crookston had five players in double figures in the first half and a total of six when the final buzzer rang. Brittani Wiese (G, 5-7, FR, Albertville, Minn.) led all scorers with 21 points. She was 8 of 12 from the field and 4 of 4 from the free-throw line. Diana Taddy (G, 5-6, JR, Two Rivers, Wis.) followed Wiese with 17 points while Van Ackeren and Gina Jaroszewski (F, 5-11, JR, Moorhead, Minn.) scored 16 points each to tie Jaroszewski's career-high. Jaroszewski was hot from long range connecting on all four of her three-point attempts. Jamie Zelinsky (G, 5-11, JR, Brooklyn Park, Minn.) and Treasure Clemons (G, 5-3, SR, Minneapolis, Minn.) each earned 12 points, a season-high for Clemons. Van Ackeren recorded a game-high in rebounds with 13. The Golden Eagles as a team shot 54 percent from the field and scored 31 points off of Finlandia turnovers.
Finlandia was led by Jodi Riutta's 16 points. She was followed by Ally Tincknell who tallied the only Lion double-double of the game with 13 points and 12 rebounds.
The Golden Eagles move to 10-15 overall and 7-11 in Northern Sun play while the Lions fall to 9-16 overall. Minnesota, Crookston returns to the court on Wednesday, February 24 to host the University of Mary. Game time is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. The team closes out the regular season on Saturday, February 27 when they play MSU Moorhead on Senior/Parent Day. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m.
