(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota Crookston Men's Basketball team opened up a 51-34 halftime lead and went on to defeat Finlandia University 91-72 in non-conference action tonight in Crookston, Minn.
The Golden Eagles never trailed and led by as many as 20 points. They had four players in double figures including three who scored 20 points or more. U of M, Crookston was led by Mike Larsen (Jr, F, Bluffdale, Utah) who scored 22 points (6-for-10) with a game-high 13 rebounds. He also had six assists. Matthew Heier (Sr, G, Ray, N.D.) scored 21 points and added five rebounds. Adam Hendricks (Jr, F, Watertown, Minn.) scored 20 points (8-for-19) and pulled down six rebounds. Darin Weeks (Jr, G/F, Green River, Wyo.) scored 13 points (3-for-7) with 12 rebounds.
Finlandia University was led by Anthony Grandberry who scored 22 points (8-for-16) with five rebounds. Mario Cooper added 14 points (5-for-17) with five rebounds. Lee Naugle chipped in 11 points (4-for-10).
The Golden Eagles improve to 5-20 overall. Finlandia University ends their season at 8-13.
The University of Minnesota, Crookston Men's Basketball team returns to home Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) action on Wednesday, February 24 when they host the University of Mary. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. at Lysaker Gymnasium.
