
(St. Paul, Minn.)- The 2009-10 NSIC All-Conference Teams have been announced, as voted on by the league coaches. This year's awards will consist of a first and a second all-conference team, an all-freshman team and an all-defensive team. The coaches also vote for the NSIC Player of the Year, NSIC Defensive Player of the Year, NSIC Freshman of the Year and NSIC Coach of the Year. Earning honors from the University of Minnesota, Crookston Women's Basketball team were Jamie Zelinsky (G, 5-11, JR, Brooklyn Park, Minn.) who was named all-conference second team and Brittany Wiese (G, 5-7, FR, Albertville, Minn.) who was named to the all-freshmen team.
Zelinsky started all 27 games and finished the season with a team-high 16.4 points/game average, good for third in the NSIC. She scored her 1,000th point on December 20 against Dickinson State and moved into second place all-time in scoring at the University of Minnesota, Crookston with 1,302 points. Zelinsky led the team in field goals made with 161 and in rebounds with 146. She dished out a team-high 70 assists and blocked a team-high 17 shots. She is the daughter of Julie Walter of Brooklyn Park, Minn. and Jeff Zelinsky of Woodbury, Minn. and is majoring in sport & recreation management.

Wiese had a very strong freshman season. She started in 22 of the 27 games played and was third on the team in scoring, averaging 11.2 points/game. She was second on the team with 109 field goals made, second in steals with 35 and third on the team in assists with 58. Wiese is the daughter of Ken and Lori Wiese and is undeclared on a major at U of M, Crookston.
