Golden Eagle Softball Hits the Road for Six Road Games this Week

(Crookston, Minn.) - The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women's Softball team which hosted four conference games last weekend will hit the road for six games this week. The Golden Eagles will travel to Mayville, N.D. on Wednesday, April 7 to play the Comets in a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. The team returns to NSIC action on Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11. UMC plays Concordia- St. Paul on April 10 with a 12:00 p.m. start. The Golden Eagles play St. Cloud on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. as well. Minnesota, Crookston fell to the Huskies 6-1 on February 28 in a non-conference game.

Minnesota, Crookston is 3-11 overall and 0-4 in the NSIC. The team is led by Steph Thomas (P, 5-9, JR, St. Albert, Alberta) who is batting .333 (4-12) on the season with a double and a .417 slugging percentage. She is 2-2 in the circle on the season and has a 3.85 ERA in seven appearances. She has one complete game shutout and has struck out 23 batters. Holly Roepke (OF, 5-3, FR, Osage, Minn.) is batting .308 (4-13) on the season with four runs scored and one double. She is 2 for 2 on the bases in stolen base attempts.
