(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston football team opens the 2010 season on Thursday, September 2 when the Golden Eagles host the Comets of Mayville State University in a non-conference contest. UMC is 3-0 against Mayville State in the team's three previous match-ups. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Ed Widseth Field on the U of M, Crookston campus.
The Athletics Department and Teambackers are excited to announce that Midcontinent Communications will give away two big-screen televisions during the game. A 32" TV will be given away to one randomly-drawn, lucky UMC student with a current student ID, and a 42" TV will be given away to one randomly-drawn, lucky attendee with a paid admission or valid pass. The drawings will be held in the 3rd quarter, and you must be present to win. There will be no additional charge to be eligible for the drawings.
The Golden Eagles open NSIC play on the road at Wayne State on Saturday, September 11 at 1 p.m. The team returns home on Saturday, September 18 to host the Mavericks of Minnesota State University, Mankato at 1 p.m.
