(Crookston, Minn.)- Minot State University scored a goal in each half and limited the University of Minnesota, Crookston to two shots on goal as they defeated the Golden Eagles 2-0 in an exhibition women's soccer game today in Minot, N.D.
The Beavers got on the board at 37:22 of the match when Tatyannay Griffiths scored off an assist from Lexy Kidd. Minot State University scored their second goal at 52:56 when Kidd found the back of the net in unassisted fashion.
Anna Ogaard (Sr, GK, Maple Grove, Minn.) recorded nine saves for the Golden Eagles.
U of M, Crookston will open the 2010 regular season when they travel to Rensselaer, Ind. on Thursday, September 2 and Marion, Ind. on Saturday, September 4 to face St. Joseph's College and Indiana Wesleyan University respectively. Thursday's match will begin at 7 p.m. (C.S.T.) while Saturday's match will begin at 6 p.m. (C.S.T.).
