(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women's Soccer team started the 2010 season on a positive note with a 2-0 win over Jamestown College in exhibition action today in Crookston, Minn.
After a scoreless first half, U of M, Crookston got on the board at 63:28 when Rachel Halligan (Fr, D, Duluth, Minn.) found the back of the Jamestown College net off assists from Megan Flynn (So, M, Chanhassen, Minn.) and Rachelle Alcini (Fr, D, Ann Arbor, Mich.). The Golden Eagles tallied their second goal at 68:20 when Kylie Haberman (Fr, M, Sioux Falls, S.D.) scored off an assist from Nikki Hammond (Fr, F, Nelson, Minn.). Anna Ogaard (Sr, GK, Maple Grove, Minn.) recorded two saves to secure the shutout.
The Golden Eagles return to exhibition action on Sunday, August 29 when they travel to Minot, N.D. to take on Minot State University. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
