(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women's Soccer team volunteered at the Crookston Humane Society on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 18.
The Golden Eagle players and coaches helped bathe and walk the dogs as well as clean the cats' cages. The cats and dogs loved the attention as much as the U of M, Crookston Women's Soccer program enjoyed giving it.
"This was a great way for us to give back to the community," says Golden Eagle Head Women's Soccer Coach Richard Jones. "We look forward to volunteering at the shelter throughout the year."
The Golden Eagles open the 2010 season with an exhibition game against Jamestown College on Sunday, August 22. Action gets underway at 4 p.m. at the UMC Soccer Field.
