Over 60 Golfers Battle Mother Nature at the Golden Eagle Women's Golf Scramble

1st place team.JPG(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Athletic Department held its annual Women's Golf Scramble on Tuesday, August 10 at the Minakwa Golf Course in Crookston, Minn. The tournament benefits women's athletic scholarships at the U of M, Crookston.
 
Sixteen teams and a total of 65 participants took part in the scramble that was shortened slightly by rain. The golfers heard remarks from University of Minnesota, Crookston Chancellor Dr. Charles H. Casey and Athletic Director Stephanie Helgeson prior to the shotgun start.
 
Prizes were awarded for the first, second and third place teams. Due to the rain, prizes for the longest putt, longest drive and closest to the line were raffled off.

The University of Minnesota, Crookston Athletic Department would like to thank the Minakwa Golf Course for helping with the scramble and for the post-play dinner. They would also like to thank the individuals and businesses that donated gifts as well as all hole sponsors.
