Huskies Close Out Weekend with 3-0 Victory Over Golden Eagles

(St. Cloud, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston volleyball team is on the road during homecoming weekend at UMC. The team traveled to St. Cloud State University on Saturday, September 25 to take on the Huskies at Halenbeck Hall. The SCSU defense held the Golden Eagles to a .100 (29K-19E-100TA) attack percentage in the 3-0 SCSU victory.

Danielle Rueter (OH, 5-9, So., Burlington, Wis.) led the Golden Eagle offense with nine kills. She added one service ace and five defensive digs. Shannon Cologna (S, 5-8, Sr., Peoria, Ariz.) tallied 16 set assists and seven defensive digs to tie for a team-high.

The Huskies were led by a team defense that earned nine total team blocks. Lauren Clipperly led all defenders with 14 defensive digs. Kayla Tschida played solid at the net earning five assisted blocks. Offensively, SCSU was led by Clipperly who finished with 11 kills and a .556 (11K-1E-18TA) attack percentage.

The Golden Eagles are 0-13 overall and 0-5 in NSIC play. St. Cloud advances to 9-4 overall and 4-1 in the conference. Minnesota, Crookston is back on the road on October 1 and 2 as they travel to Minnesota State and Southwest Minnesota State. Match times are at 7 p.m. and 3 p.m. respectively.
