(St. Cloud, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Men's Golf team traveled to St. Cloud, Minn. for the SCSU Husky Classic on Sunday, September 19 and Monday, September 20. The Golden Eagles closed out the two day tournament in third place behind Minnesota State and St. Cloud State (Red) with a team score of +29 (605). Jake Sanders (Sr., Crookston, Minn.) played the most consistent over the two days and took the tournament victory with a -1 (143), two strokes over second place.
 
"This was as great field and a strong finish for our team and a well-deserved individual title for Jake Sanders.  Jake has finished a number of tournaments in the top five individually over the past few years, however he has never put it all together to win one," says Head Coach Jason Tangquist. "He has really work hard the past two years on concentrating on each individual shot during a round, being in control of his emotions both highs and lows in a round, and finishing each round with focus, and he really executed these things well this past weekend."
