#13 Ranked Minnesota State Defeats Minnesota, Crookston 3-0

(Mankato, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Volleyball team traveled to #13 ranked Minnesota State tonight in NSIC action. The Mavericks started out on fire defeating the Golden Eagle 25-8, hitting at a .588 attack percentage. UMC played better in sets two and three but fell 25-13, 25-17 for the 3-0 loss.

Alexandra Skeeter (OH, 5-10, Fr., Milwaukee, Wis.) led the Golden Eagle offense with six kills. Shannon Cologna (S, 5-8, Sr., Peoria, Ariz.) earned nine assists in the match from the setter position. Chelsea Wiesner (DS, 5-8, Fr., Rochester, Minn.) tied a match-high with 11 defensive digs.

The Mavericks were led by Megan Ysker who earned eight kills. Setter Brittany Stamer led all setters with 30 assists. As a team, MSU earned a .392 (35K-6E-74TA) attack percentage in the match.

The Golden Eagles are 0-14 overall and 0-6 in NSIC play. Minnesota State advances to 11-3 overall and 3-3 in conference play. Minnesota, Crookston travels to Southwest Minnesota State on Saturday, October 2 to take on the Mustangs. Match time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
