Golden Eagle Football Travels to Fayette, Iowa to Take on the Peacocks of Upper Iowa

Ogorek_Eric10.JPG(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Football team takes their longest trip of the season to Fayette, Iowa to take on the Peacocks of Upper Iowa University on Saturday, October 9. UIU is 0-5 overall and 0-4 in the NSIC after suffering a 51-12 loss to Bemidji State University. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.

UMC vs. Mary: The University of Minnesota, Crookston Football team traveled to Bismarck, N.D. on Saturday to take on the University of Mary in the Marauders Homecoming game. The Golden Eagles were led offensively by Eric Ogorek (WR, 6-0, 175, So, Hallock, Minn.) who caught six passes for 64 yards. Running back Keith McBride (RB, 5-11, 195, So, Lodi, Wis.) rushed 21 times for 40 yards. Quarterback Josh Perea (QB, 6-0, 175, Fr, Pico Rivera, Calif.) completed 11 passes for 71 yards. Defensively, the Golden Eagles were led by Cody Brekken (DB, 5-11, 185, Sr, Crookston, Minn.) who tallied seven total tackles.

Upper Iowa vs. Bemidji State: Craig Henry (S, Sr., Oakland Park, Fla.) intercepted two passes for the second straight week. Henry picked off a pair of Bemidji State passes and made 8 tackles in the Peacocks loss. Upper Iowa was outgained 471-223 which included a 281-139 margin in the rushing game. Tony Leggett and Casey Popenfoose led the Peacock defense with 14 tackles each. The Peacocks return home this Saturday for a Homecoming showdown with the Golden Eagles of Minnesota, Crookston. Kickoff at Eb Eischeid Stadium is slated for 1 p.m.
